Tournaments & Community Cohesion Events

Sandanaa CBO uses sports, arts, and culture—including tournaments—to bring community members together. Through these events, youth and children from diverse backgrounds unite, strengthening social bonds, promoting peace, and fostering a sense of shared identity and mutual support. These activities help bridge gaps, reduce tension, and build cohesion among community members.

November–December 2023

Inaugural Youth Football Tournament at IVC Mlimani

We hosted the first-ever Youth Football Tournament at the IVC Mlimani open fields. Alongside the thrilling matches, participants benefited from side events including mental health awareness sessions by the MTRH Mental Health Department, anti-drug and alcohol sensitization by NACADA, and a free medical camp courtesy of Equity Afya.

Easter Volleyball Tournament at Kapsaos Primary

During Easter, we organized a Volleyball Tournament at Kapsaos Primary School in Turbo Constituency. A highlight of the event was the awarding of a scholarship to a talented young volleyball player by D’Square School of Fashion. Despite having completed school, she had never been able to join college until this opportunity. The event also featured a medical camp supported by Palm Care Hospital.

Back to School Junior Football Tournament at Kapyemit Primary

In December, we hosted the Back to School Junior Football Tournament at Kapyemit Primary School. The tournament provided young players with an exciting platform to showcase their talent while fostering teamwork and discipline.

Back to School Junior Football Tournament at Rabbi Primary

We organized another edition of the Back to School Junior Football Tournament, this time at Rabbi Primary School. The event continued to nurture sportsmanship, discipline, and youth development within the community.
