To restore hope and inspire a better future by empowering children, youth, and women through ethical leadership development, sustainable livelihood initiatives, environmental stewardship, and the promotion of cohesive, child & youth friendly communities
Our Programs
At Sandanaa CBO, our work is driven by five core Pillars designed to create a lasting impact on our community. Each initiative is an essential part of our integrated approach to restoring hope and inspiring a better future.
Empowering Child & Youth Potential
This program focuses on eradicating learner poverty and nurturing the next generation. We provide essential support to ensure every child has what they need to succeed in school, including academic resources and mentorship. We also strive to equip children and youth with vital tech and soft skills, such as coding, public speaking, financial literacy among others, helping them to thrive in today's world.
Empowering Women, Uplifting Children
We believe that when we empower women, we uplift entire families. This pillar enables programs that provide coaching and support for women to develop sustainable livelihoods through practical skills training in areas like tailoring, agribusiness, and entrepreneurship. By strengthening their ability to provide for their children, we help secure a brighter and more stable future for the whole family.
Nurturing Ethical Leadership & Governance
Through this initiative, we instill a strong sense of civic responsibility from a young age. We organize school-based elections to give students a voice and a practical understanding of democratic processes. We also provide dedicated mentorship sessions for young leaders, equipping them with civic knowledge and ethical leadership skills to advocate for transparent and accountable governance in their communities.
Nurturing Environmental Responsibility
This program fosters a deep connection between children and nature. We empower them to become environmental stewards by engaging in practical activities like tree planting sessions on school opening days, or when elected school leaders plant a fruit tree to mark the beginning of their term. We also distribute and facilitate the planting of fruit trees across homes to increase tree coverage as well as add nutritional value to children's growth. Our goal is to promote responsible practices that lead to healthier and more sustainable communities for everyone.
Cohesive Communities, Thriving Children
We work to build safe, supportive, and integrated communities where children can flourish. By promoting social cohesion and community development, we create environments where children feel empowered to participate, thrive, and achieve comprehensive well-being in all aspects of their lives. This includes hosting annual community awards to recognize exemplary community behavior and contributions, as well as organizing inter-community dialogue sessions and cultural exchange programs.

Our Past Projects and Activities
Tournaments & Community Cohesion Events
Sandanaa CBO uses sports, arts, and culture—including tournaments—to bring community members together. Through these events, youth and children from diverse backgrounds unite, strengthening social bonds, promoting peace, and fostering a sense of shared identity and mutual support. These activities help bridge gaps, reduce tension, and build cohesion among community members.
Medical Camps
Sandanaa CBO organizes medical camps to support communities with essential health services. These camps make healthcare more accessible for households that might otherwise struggle to reach medical help. They include general check-ups, screenings, and referrals, benefiting many people in need. To date, Sandanaa reports having conducted 2 medical camps.
Mentorship
The organisation runs mentorship programs focused on empowering youth and children. These programs provide guidance, support, and development opportunities—educational, moral, leadership-based—to help young people realise their potential. Through mentorship, Sandanaa aims to build confidence, life skills, and leadership among its younger community members.
Environmental Events
Sandanaa promotes environmental sustainability by encouraging practices that preserve and protect natural resources. Their environmental programs aim to ensure that present community needs are met without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs. Activities include awareness raising, engaging communities in sustainable habits, and fostering a green, healthy living environment.
